Yes. Shipyard is designed to be self-hosted in your cloud or private network, keeping credentials, schema metadata, queries, and migration history within your security boundary.

02How does Shipyard prevent accidental production writes?+

Read activity and schema discovery use dedicated read connections. Write connections are reserved for migrations that have completed the configured review and approval workflow.

03Which databases are supported?+

Shipyard currently supports 22 engines across relational, analytics, warehouse, and NoSQL systems. Capabilities are clearly gated by engine, and additional engines can be added for enterprise deployments.

04Can approval rules differ by project or environment?+

Yes. Projects can define their own reviewers, approval requirements, releasers, self-approval policy, scheduling rules, and migration validation controls.

05What evidence is available for audits?+

Shipyard records migration events, comments, approvals, execution results, user administration, settings changes, and other material actions with actor and timestamp.
